Come join us for our weekly social activities!

At the heart of our charity is a commitment to reducing social isolation and bringing people together. We believe that meaningful social connections play a vital role in improving wellbeing, building confidence and creating a stronger, more inclusive community.

We run a wide range of weekly and monthly social groups for people of all ages across our centre in Bexleyheath & community halls in Eltham and Greenwich, providing welcoming spaces where friendships can flourish and everyone feels they belong.

For those who work during the week, we host monthly Open House Nights, Quiz Nights and our Saturday Aggies Café, offering relaxed opportunities to meet new people, catch up with friends and stay connected.

Our ICS socials team works throughout the year planning dances, day trips, seasonal celebrations and special one-off social occasions to keep our community connected.

Aggies Café is a warm and welcoming place to enjoy a cup of Irish tea, a coffee and a catch-up with friends. Open each month, the café offers a relaxed atmosphere where everyone is welcome to come together and enjoy good food and great company.

With subsidised prices, you'll find a tasty selection of breakfast baps, homemade soup, sausage rolls, pastries and other light refreshments, making it an affordable place to meet, eat and socialise.

While you're here, be sure to visit our Irish Food Shop, stocked with all your favourite Irish classics, including black pudding, Tayto crisps and a range of traditional Irish treats, bringing a little taste of home to our community.

Chair Based Excercises

Join Natalie for our Chair-Based Exercise class, designed to get both the body and mind working together. Our sessions are a fun and gentle way to stay active, improve strength and mobility, and support your overall wellbeing. Suitable for all abilities, these friendly classes are designed to help build confidence, improve flexibility and encourage movement in a safe and supportive environment.

Poetry Pals

The beautiful handmade items created by the group are sold at our events throughout the year, with every purchase helping to raise vital funds to support the work of our charity.

Choir

The Shamrockers Choir brings people together through the joy of music. The choir meets regularly to practice at our centre & perform at our special events throughout the year.

Whether you're a seasoned singer or simply enjoy a sing-along, we welcome everyone, whatever note or tune you sing! It's all about friendship, fun, and sharing a love of music with our community.

Tea Cake Club
2nd & 4th Thurs. of Month

Join us on the second Thursday of every month from 12:00pm to 2:30pm for a warm cuppa, a delicious slice of cake, fun games, a quiz, a raffle, and plenty of friendly conversation. It's the perfect opportunity to relax, meet new people, and enjoy a welcoming afternoon together.

Open House Night
2nd Thursday of Month

Each 2nd Thursday of the month features a handful of booked acts performing sets that have a little something for everyone. The night will conclude with an open house meaning individuals can get up and sing a song or read a poem and be part of the fun warm atmosphere.

Luck O' The Irish Community Services Quiz

Last Thursday of the month we host a relaxed, friendly quiz celebrating Irish culture and community, in collaboration with The Greenwich Tavern. Raffle and prizes on the night, with proceeds supporting Irish Community Services and the work we do across our projects, clubs and outreach.
So call up your family, neighbours and friends and form the dream team to test your knowledge and support a great cause!

Walk & Talk Group
First Friday of Month

10:50am - 12:00pm | Danson Stables Pub, DA6 8HL | £ Free | Call to book

Walking is good for the body and talking is good for the soul. Why not do the two together once a month in our ICS Walk and Talk group. The walkers meet outside the Danson Stables pub in Danson park at 10.50am before setting off on a walk around the gorgeous lake. Taking in the scenery while having a good old chat. The walk will last around 45mins to an hour and the pace will be moderate. Walkers can also stop on route to grab a tea or coffee to keep them moving if they wish.

All that’s left to do is to put on some comfy clothes, dust off your trainers and pop these dates in your diary…

Carers Connect & Béidh Chomhrá Agaínn

Cancer & Carers Support Group offers a safe, friendly, and supportive space for people living with or recovering from cancer, as well as their carers. It's an opportunity to share experiences, find encouragement, and connect with others who truly understand. We also provide information on emotional support, benefits, grants, and other services, with occasional guest speakers joining us to offer advice and inspiration. Whatever stage of your journey you're at, you'll always find a warm welcome.

Seated Irish Dancing

Seated Irish Dancing is a fun and inclusive way to enjoy the music and traditions of Irish dance from the comfort of a chair. Our friendly sessions are suitable for all abilities and help improve mobility, coordination, and wellbeing while bringing people together for laughter, friendship, and a great sense of community.

No previous dance experience is needed - just come along and enjoy the craic!

Picnic in the Park
Saturday 1st August

Join us on the first Saturday in August for our yearly picnic in the park. We will be meeting at the Danson Stables car park at 10am for a gorgeous stroll around the lake. Followed by a picnic in the beautiful rose garden from 11am until 1pm. Pack your favourite sandwich and snacks and give the office a call to join the list.
