...We're Checking It Twice!

Merry Christmas Eve, one and all! As we approach the big day, we wanted to give you all the final updates on our Christmas Hamper Project 2020. So, put your feet up, grab a sweet treat from your hamper and have a read (and make sure you have read last week’s blog post so you’re up to date)!

First, let’s blast through the boring bits… our hours over the Christmas period are as follows:

Thursday 24th December 2020: 10am -3pm

Friday 25th December 2020: CLOSED

Monday 28th December 2020: CLOSED

Friday 1st January 2021: CLOSED

Our legal advice service has also been suspended over the holidays and will resume in the new year. A huge thank you to the team at Ewings & Co. for all their help and support over the past months.

Now that we have that covered, let’s get into the more exciting stuff.

It’s officially the talk of the town- our Christmas Hamper project has taken the community by storm and delivered over 1044 hand-packed Christmas hampers. Santa Claus, eat your heart out. As mentioned last week, we really wanted to spread some Christmas sparkle in these mad times and, thanks to the indispensable efforts of our volunteers, staff and more, we did just that.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Asda in Bexleyheath and Morrisons in Sidcup for their donations to the hampers. To our delivery drivers who have been travelling all-over South-East London to every corner of the country to make sure our clients see a friendly face and get a Christmas gift, we are truly grateful. Notably, Vince and Ryan Dignam from The Bridge Group, Mary and Tom from Killoughery Ltd, Ian and Natalie from PHD Access, Padraig, Collie, Mark, Anthony, Martin, Caroline, Gemma, Carol, Aisling, Ailish, Noel, Matt and more. From making deliveries to packing hampers well into the evening, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we are so incredibly grateful.

Finally, we would like to thank the community for their support, especially over this past year and we hope that you have felt supported by us also. Our winter appeal “A Connected Christmas” is still live and accepting donations which would be greatly appreciated:

Until next time, we wish you a Merry Christmas!
